Bombings in London

Several bombs have just gone off in London, on a bus and in the Tube (the subway, to us Americans). There are reports of casualties, but no numbers yet.

This must seem horribly familiar to Londoners who lived through earlier bombings. I hope my friends there are OK. I hate those who did this, whoever they might be.

I worry that my government will seize on this as an excuse for more bad policy in the Middle East. As I've said before, look at the Israelis and the Palestinians to see where a culture of revenge will get us.

But for now, my thoughts are with the people of London.
