Tom DeLay's campaign workers are giving themselves plenty of time to collect enough signatures to get him on the ballot. Apparently it's going to take six months to find 500 people willing to say he should be allowed to run.

The DeLay campaign claimed this was their way of letting his frenzied (ok, they said "energized") supporters help.

On the other hand, it may be that they just want to get the signatures before upcoming events drive his support below 500 constituents.
